Mutant Chronicles

How to Be

At first fancying himself an “enigmatic poet,” twentysomething Art gradually realizes that he must take action if he’s going to escape his depressed life as a struggling musician in London. A solution comes in the shape of a book titled “It’s Not Your Fault.” Not content to just draw inspiration from its pages, however, Art invites the elderly author of the book to come live with him and his parents, which quickly becomes a painfully funny journey about dysfunction and growing up.

Crank High Voltage

For those who thought there couldn’t possibly be a sequel to CRANK, this adrenaline-fueled film marks a return for the character of Chev Chelios (Jason Statham). In CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE, Chelios tears through Los Angeles as he searches for the Chinese criminal who has possession of his heart. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are back in the directors’ chairs, and Amy Smart, Dwight Yoakam, and Efren Ramirez revisit their roles from the original film.

Love N’ Dancing

In this romance, two dancers get a second chance at proving their talent. Jake Mitchell (screenwriter and producer Tom Malloy) is a skilled dancer whose abilities are even more impressive when one realizes that Jake is deaf. But Jake worries that his title of World West Coast Swing Champion wasn’t truly earned and that the judges only awarded the prize because of his deafness. Jessica Donovan (CRANK’s Amy Smart) spends her time as a teacher, but she longs for the days when she was a young dancer. When she and her fiancé schedule dance lessons with Jake to prepare for her wedding, she gets a taste of everything she misses. Plus, her fiancé is too busy for the lessons, and she and Jake find that there’s more than just West Coast Swing drawing them together. The partners decide to enter the championships, but will their tentative romance keep them from the win? LOVE ‘N DANCING also stars Billy Zane, Rachel Dratch, and Caroline Rhea.

Skeptic

Though Tim Daly and Tom Arnold are perhaps best known for their funny roles, the actors leave the confines of comedy for this creepy thriller. Daly stars as Bryan Becket, a man who moves into his aunt’s home after her strange death. Though Becket is the nonbeliever of the title, the evil forces at the Victorian estate cause him to question his principles and investigate the strange occurrences. Also starring STAR TREK’s Zoe Saldana, THE SKEPTIC will keep audiences questioning the nature of the chills until its last minutes.
